Cat’s Cradle String Art Craft

A while back I saw this cool-looking string art craft tutorial in BUST magazine. I decided to try it out, choosing a kitty cat as my shape. I picked up some upholstery tacks, mint paint, 4 bunches of white & pink embroidery floss, and a wood plaque from the craft store. This piece looks really cool, was inexpensive, and is very easy to do!

I painted the plaque and let it dry. Next, I hammered upholstery tacks around the perimeter of the plaque, and in the shape of a cat head in the center. Starting with one bunch of white thread, I tied an end to a tack and began wrapping, alternating colors as each bundle of floss ran out. The more thread you use, the less gaps you’ll have. You can wrap symmetrically, or randomly as I did.
